Tapebid is made by [legal name of the company], [address] ("we"). This page says what the Tapebid app and the pages at tapebid.com collect, why, who handles it for us, and how to have it deleted. Questions: widgetcraftwalpapers@gmail.com.
Two kinds of people use Tapebid
- Contractors use the app to make estimates.
- Their customers receive a link to an estimate and may sign it. A customer has no account with us. The contractor decides what goes on the estimate and whom it is sent to; for that information the contractor is responsible, and we handle it on the contractor's behalf.
What we collect from contractors
- Account: your email address and, if you sign in with Apple, Google or Facebook, the identifier that service gives us. The app starts without an account; signing in is asked for when you first send an estimate.
- Your business: your name, company name, contact line, logo, price list and settings, as you enter them.
- Your estimates: rooms, measurements, prices, notes, and the customer's name, phone number, email and address, as you enter them.
- Contacts: only the one contact you pick when you choose "Pick from contacts". The app does not upload your address book.
- Voice: when you describe a room by voice, your phone's own speech service turns the speech into text. We receive the text, not the recording, and send it to an AI service to read out the room's sizes. We do not keep the recording, and we do not keep the text after the request.
- Room scans: the scan is processed on your phone. Only the sizes it produces are saved with the estimate. No pictures or video are stored.
- Your phones: the model of each phone signed in to your account and the address used to send it notifications.
- Subscription: whether you have a subscription, which plan and until when. Payment is handled by Apple or Google; we never see your card.
- Usage and crashes: which screens are used and technical details of crashes, to fix problems and improve the app. This is not linked to your name.
What we collect from customers
- What the contractor entered about you on the estimate.
- Whether and when the link was opened.
- If you sign: the name you type, the signature you draw, the option you pick, the date and time, your IP address and your browser type. These are kept with the signed estimate as a record of the signature.
The signing page uses no advertising or tracking cookies.
What we use it for
- To make, send and sign estimates, and to keep them available on the contractor's phones.
- To send sign-in codes, signed copies and notifications.
- To manage subscriptions.
- To keep the service secure and to fix what breaks.
We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for advertising.
Who handles it for us
- Google (Firebase): sign-in, database, file storage, notifications, hosting, analytics and crash reports.
- RevenueCat, with Apple and Google: subscriptions.
- Resend: email delivery.
- Anthropic: reading room sizes out of the text of a spoken description.
They process the information on our instructions. The information is stored in the United States.
How long we keep it
Until the contractor deletes the estimate or the account. Deleting an estimate closes its link and deletes its files. Deleting the account deletes everything we hold for it. A signed copy already sent to a customer by email stays in that customer's mailbox.
Your choices
- Contractors: you can see and change your information in the app, export your estimates (Account, "Export all estimates"), and delete your account (Account, "Delete account"; see also Delete your account).
- Customers: ask the contractor who sent you the estimate, or write to us and we will pass the request on.
- Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your information, and to complain to a data protection authority. Write to widgetcraftwalpapers@gmail.com.
Children
Tapebid is a tool for businesses. It is not meant for children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so in the app before the change takes effect.
