Invoice app for contractors
In Tapebid the invoice comes from the estimate your customer signed. Write down the deposit and every payment, see what each job still owes, and remind the customer with your payment link, all from your phone.
From the signed estimate to the invoice
Nothing is typed twice. Once your customer signs, the estimate has an Invoice section with the total they agreed to, the payments you record and what is left to pay. Change orders they sign later are added to the total.
Example: signed for $4,220.10, with a 30% deposit
The customer signs the Better option and pays the deposit by Zelle.
- Total signed: $4,220.10.
- Deposit received: 30% of $4,220.10 = $1,266.03.
- Balance due: $4,220.10 − $1,266.03 = $2,954.07.
The invoice PDF carries your company name, the estimate number, who signed and when, the payments received and the balance due. While something is left to pay, it says how to pay you and has a QR code for your payment link. Once it is all paid, it says so.
What came in, and what is still owed
Above your estimates, a second row of figures shows the money: what you received this month, what customers still owe you on every signed job, and how many jobs are unpaid. The Unpaid list puts the job waiting longest at the top, with what is left to pay on it.
Example: two signed jobs this month
$1,000 paid on a $4,220.10 job, and $500 paid on a $1,427.81 floor.
- Received this month: $1,000 + $500 = $1,500.
- Owed to you: $3,220.10 + $927.81 = $4,147.91.
- Unpaid: 2 jobs.
A payment reminder in one tap
"Remind to pay" writes the message for you, in your customer's language, with the amount left, the estimate number and your payment link. It goes by text or email from your own phone, so the customer sees it come from you. The app notes the day, so the list shows when you last asked.
Expenses and profit on every job
Write down what a job costs you as you go: materials, a subcontractor or anything else, with the day, a note and a photo of the receipt. On a signed job, Tapebid takes the expenses off what the customer agreed to pay and shows the job profit.
Example: the same $4,220.10 job
$312.40 of paint and supplies, and $85.00 for a helper.
- Expenses: $312.40 + $85.00 = $397.40.
- Job profit: $4,220.10 − $397.40 = $3,822.70.
Expenses, receipts and payments are yours alone: they are never on the estimate, the invoice or the page your customer opens. The export to a spreadsheet has the expenses and the profit of every job.
What Tapebid does not do
- It takes no payments. Your customer pays you the way you already get paid; the link goes to your own payment page.
- It is not accounting software. Where the law asks for numbered tax invoices, issue those from your accounting system.
